What is King’s Rock?

The King’s Rock is a very special evolutionary stone in Pokémon. Appeared during the second generation, it only concerns two families of Pokémon. Its shape resembles a crown and directly inspired its name.

The peculiarity of this rock is that it is not only used to evolve a Pokémon. Indeed, it gives an alternative evolution to a Pokémon which could at the base already evolve into another species.

Which Pokémon evolve with the King’s Rock?

For now, there are only two Pokémon that can evolve with King’s Rock: they are Poliwhirl and Slowpoke. For this, you obviously need the evolution stone but also Pokemon candies of the species concerned in order for it to work.

Poliwhirl normally evolves into Poliwrath. However, thanks to the King’s Rock it can evolve into Politoed, a toad in green and yellow colors which is known to invoke rain in combat.

Slowpoke normally evolves into Slowbro. With the King’s Rock this Pokémon will evolve into Slowking, supposed to be the king of all Slowpoke with its seashell crown on the head.

How to get the King’s Rock in Pokémon Go?

There are only three ways to get the King’s Rock in Pokémon Go:

• during a gift exchange with a friend
• when using a PokéStop
• as a reward in a PokéStop after having completed a series of 7 consecutive days

Unfortunately, it is completely impossible to predict whether you will get this evolutionary stone or not during each of the three situations. This is indeed based only on chance.

The best thing to do, however, is to browse as many PokéStops as possible, carry out many gift exchanges with your friends and of course never miss your 7-day series during which you will have an even better chance of finding this object.

Where to find the King’s Rock in Pokémon Go?

The King’s Rock does not depend on any geographic area. You can find it all over the world. To get it, you will have to be lucky by exchanging gifts with your friends, by winning it in a PokéStop or an arena or as a reward by finishing a consecutive series of 7 days in PokéStops.
